Charter school advocates from across the state will gather at the Georgia Capitol with HB 787 sponsor Rep. Scott Hilton, the Georgia Charter Schools Association and other elected officials in support of more equitableÌýfunding for state charter schools.
ATLANTA, GA Ìý– On Thursday, March, 15, more than 150Ìýcharter school students, parents, school leaders, teachers, advocates and other organizations that support school choice willÌýrally at the GeorgiaÌýCapitol in support of Georgia House Bill 787 and the inclusionÌýof funding for HB 430 in the 2019Ìýstate budget. A special program about the bills and aÌý proclamation celebrating the 20th anniversary of startup charter schools will take place on Thursday morning at theÌýSloppyÌýFloydÌýBuilding. After the program is completed, charter school advocates will head across the street to the GeorgiaÌýCapitol to meet with their elected officials.
