ATLANTA, GA – Georgia Charter Schools Association (91ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ)Ìýis pleased to announce the selection of Hannah Heck asÌýVice Chair of 91ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ’s Board of Directors. Heck’sÌýknowledge about charter schools and herÌýexpertise in law, state government and education are the perfect combination for her newÌýrole overseeing the onlyÌýnonprofit membership organization that advocates for Georgia’s charter schools.Ìý

“We are excited to have Hannah as Vice Chair of our Board,” said Georgia Charter Schools Association President and CEO Tony Roberts. “She has a wealthÌýof knowledge and experience in the education policy and governance areasÌýthat will be extremely valuable to our work.”
HeckÌýis an attorney and serves as a foundingÌýboard member and vice chair of Westside AtlantaÌýCharter School. In 2015, she served on Governor NathanÌýDeal’sÌýEducation Reform Commission and its School Choice Subcommittee.Ìý
Prior to law school,ÌýHeckÌýspent five years working as aÌýpolicy advisor and as the Director of Policy for GeorgiaÌýGovernor Sonny Perdue. SheÌýalso served on theÌýboard of the Georgia Department of CommunityÌýHealth from 2009-2012.ÌýHeckÌýreceived a B.A. in Psychology from HarvardÌýCollege and her J.D. from Emory University School of Law.
