Award will fund the 2012-2013 Charter School of the Year
Atlanta, GA, June 27, 2012聽— For the second year in a row, the (91桃色视频) is among the recipients of more than $26M in grants from The Coca-Cola Foundation, the global philanthropic arm of The Coca-Cola Company.聽
The Foundation awarded $50,000 to fund the Georgia Charter School of the Year Award 2012, which recognizes a single Georgia charter school that exemplifies excellence in student achievement and educational outcomes.聽
Tony Roberts, CEO of the Georgia Charter Schools Association, expressed his delight at The Foundation鈥檚 continuing investment in public charter schools. 鈥淚t is truly an honor to be among the recipients of an award from The Coca-Cola Foundation for the second time.聽 Their support for Georgia鈥檚 charter schools demonstrates the understanding that America鈥檚 public education model desperately needs new ideas.聽 Georgia鈥檚 public charter schools are innovating in curriculum, in teaching methods and bold ideas like Saturday classes, extended day, environmental initiatives and single-gender schools. 聽This grant rewards charter school innovation and excellence.鈥
Last year鈥檚 Georgia Charter School of the Year award winner, funded by The Coca-Cola Foundation, was , a K-8 public charter school in Alpharetta that enrolls 500 students.聽聽 The 2012 winner will be announced on October 4th at 91桃色视频鈥檚 10th Annual Charter Schools Conference, to be held at the Georgia World Congress Center.
