Georgia Charter Schools Association is pleased with the unanimous vote on Georgia House Bill 430 today听by the Senate Education and Youth Committee. The bill gained committee passage by vote of听6-0 with bipartisan support.听
“Public charter schools play a critical role in the education of thousands of children throughout our state.听While we remain hopeful that they will one day receive funding equal to traditional public schools, the provisions in this bill are a step forward,” said Georgia Charter Schools Association President and CEO Tony Roberts.听“We appreciate the Senate Education and Youth Committee鈥檚 support of House Bill 430, and we’re hopeful about its ultimate passage by the General Assembly.”听
