Gov. Nathan Deal has appointed Carmen Dill to serve as a commissioner for the State Charter 
Schools Commission. Dill is a Culinary Arts teacher at Carrollton High School. She has also worked as a second grade teacher and paraprofessional within the Carrollton City School System. Dill attended her first commission meeting on August 30. Her current term is scheduled to end in January of 2019.
鈥淚 am truly honored to serve on this important state board,鈥� said Dill. 鈥淎s a teacher, I understand the importance of providing a quality education to all children and welcome the opportunity to serve.鈥�
Previously, Dill taught a variety of Family and Consumer Science courses, coached cheerleading, and ran the school store at Forsyth Central High School in Forsyth County. 聽Prior to earning her teaching certificate, Dill worked as a Tech Prep/School-to-Work Coordinator where she presented at multiple conferences on best practices related to business, secondary and postsecondary partnerships. 聽
Outside of her work in education, Dill enjoys serving her local community. She helped to co-found the Junior Service League of Rome, served as Poinsettia Fundraising chair for the Junior Women’s Club, volunteers on multiple committees at her church, and is a member of the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE). She and her husband were members of the Leadership Georgia Class of 2013 and served as Program Chairs in 2014. Dill holds a bachelor of science degree in Family and Consumer Science from the University of Georgia. She resides in Carrollton with her husband of 20 years, and their son, Mason.
