At its January meeting, the State DOE Charter Committee moved to action approval of three new startup charter school petitions. All three schools were approved the following day by the State Board of Education. 聽— Will open as a K-3 school, adding a grade per year to become a K-8 school. It offers dual language immersion program and is authorized by DeKalb County. Languages offered will include French, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese.
聽 — A K-5 school that will add a grade per year and expand to K-8. 聽CHCS offers place-based outdoor experiential learning, targeting enrollment from zip codes in South Fulton County.
聽— Will open as a K-2 school, but eventually plans to expand to K-8. Authorized by聽Atlanta Public Schools, WACS has聽a student-centered learning approach that implements project-based learning emphasizing language literacy.聽
